Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Engineer or Principal Engineer Electronics - Comms. This onsite position can be performed at Tinker AFB, OK, Rancho Bernardo, CA, Palmdale, CA or Melbourne, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Performing and executing Statement of Work (SOW) as a Supplier/Subcontract Manger (SMT) Communications (COMMs) Avionics Subsystem(s)

  • Responsibilities include the ability to manage the program requirements to ensure supplier compliance with program and AV design, test, document and Avionics COMMs subsystems hardware requirements

  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications

  • Collaborate with Subcontract engineers and stakeholders to implement subsystem performance and environmental requirements.

  • Work to develop design solutions for obsolete hardware.

  • Travel up to 25%

This position may be filled at either the Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Engineer (Level 3) levels, depending upon the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic qualifications for an Engineer include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with no experience.

  • Basic qualifications for a Principal Engineer include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience.

  • Experience designing, configuring, and installing avionics subsystems

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Government Secret clearance

  • Active Special Program Access (SAP)

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,100.00 - $137,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
