Key Accountabilities:
Epidemiology and real-world research:
- Support the design, conduct, and reporting of epidemiologic and real-world evidence studies.
- Develop scientific content for study protocols, reports, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
- Conduct literature reviews and evidence assessments to inform study design and interpretation.
- Contribute to the selection of appropriate study designs, data sources, and analytical approaches.
- Review epidemiology-related deliverables to ensure scientific rigor and quality.
- Collaborate with biostatisticians, medical writers, data scientists, and other cross-functional team members on research projects.
Scientific Collaboration
- Communicate epidemiologic concepts and study findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to scientific discussions related to study methodology, real-world data, and evidence generation.
- Support the development of innovative approaches to epidemiologic and observational research.
Business Development Support:
- Assist with background research and epidemiology sections of proposals and client opportunities.
- Support development of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Thought Leadership:
- Contribute to publications, conference presentations, and posters.
- Help advance Parexel's scientific reputation in epidemiology, real-world evidence, and data-driven research.
Required qualifications:
- Advanced or master’s degree (MD/MPH, PhD, DrPH) in epidemiology biostatistics, public health, health outcome research, or a comparable field.
- 2-3+ year's experience conducting independent research and communicating scientific findings in academia, CROs, biopharmaceutical industry, or medical-device industry settings.
- Strong understanding of pharmacoepidemiologic principles (confounding, bias, operational definitions), study designs (cohort, cross-sectional), statistical models, observational/non-interventional research, data collection methods (primary and secondary data e.g., registry, claims).
- Knowledge of pharmacovigilance and drug development process is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, international and cross-cultural environment.
- Fluent in English.
