Job Overview

The Quotation Specialist plays a critical role in supporting sales, procurement, engineering, and project execution by preparing accurate and competitive quotations for projects, services, or turnkey solutions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure all quotes align with customer requirements, company profitability goals, and operational capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering, technical, or data analysis background with the ability to interpret technical information, analyze cost and pricing data, and support data-driven quotation decisions. Working closely with engineering, supply chain, procurement, and customer-facing teams, the Quotation Specialist interprets technical specifications, reviews drawings and BOMs, gathers cost data, and develops pricing strategies. The role requires a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple quotation requests under tight deadlines.

General Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate quotations based on RFQs, BOMs, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Review and analyze technical, cost, pricing, and supplier data to support quotation development.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to collect pricing, material costs, and lead-time information.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, project scope, and specifications.
  • Perform cost comparisons and data analysis to identify pricing trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure quotations meet company policies, margin goals, customer requirements, and contract terms.
  • Maintain accurate quotation records and assist with post-quote follow-ups.
  • Align with sales, engineering, procurement, and project teams to refine project scope and pricing.
  • Maintain and update project and quotation progress within the ERP system.
  • Assist with organizing and analyzing quotation data for reporting and management review.

Qualifications

Education & Related Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accredited technical training or relevant education.
  • Engineering, technical, data analytics, or related educational/professional background preferred.
  • Experience working with technical data, cost analysis, pricing analysis, engineering documentation, or similar analytical responsibilities preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred.

Must Have

  • At least 1 year of experience within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) field or a related engineering, construction, semiconductor, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, BOMs, or other engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to work with pricing, cost, and project data.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through.

 

 

Work Environment

This is a full-time onsite role supporting semiconductor and high-tech construction projects. Work may include office-based material planning, warehouse coordination, inventory tracking, receiving support, supplier communication, shipment follow-up, project meetings, and field material-readiness activities.

The Material Planner must be comfortable working in warehouse, construction, industrial, cleanroom, and project-support environments. The position requires the ability to manage changing material priorities, respond to time-sensitive delivery issues, maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
