Overview of the role
 
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Event Manager to oversee events from the moment they're booked to their successful execution. This role requires exceptional coordination, clear communication, and a guest-first mindset to ensure each event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations. You'll work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver seamless experiences and foster repeat business.
 
What you have
  • 2–4 year degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or event management.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage, event operations, and room configurations.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and CI/TY (Marriott system preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Previous hospitality or hotel experience preferred.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Professional, polished, and highly organized.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and solving problems quickly.
  • Strong team player and independent worker.
What you’ll do
  • Manage the full lifecycle of events (group, catering, in-house) after sales contracting.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal departments (Sales, Banquets, Culinary, etc.).
  • Plan site visits, tastings, walkthroughs with clients, and a personalized welcome on day one of each event.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation (BEOs, floor plans, trial event checks/group estimates, and group resumes) and complete all necessary activities for each quote.
  • Monitor room blocks and manage food & beverage minimums and attrition.
  • Collaborate with vendors and ensure insurance and compliance requirements are met.
  • Upsell event enhancements and ensuring revenue opportunities are maximized.
  • Host pre- and post-event meetings, be able during events, provide a smooth transition to operations.
  • Maintain updated records in the sales system and ensure clear internal communication.
  • Works closely with accounting to ensure payments are received per the contract.
  • Review client feedback through and follow up on service improvements.
