About the role:

We're looking for an experienced legal professional to join our team as Executive Counsel, supporting our content, production and entertainment teams across a diverse portfolio of premium television, streaming and digital content.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a leading media business, advising on high-profile productions, talent, rights, commercial partnerships and strategic initiatives, while partnering directly with senior leaders across the organisation. The role aligns closely with the business’s content, production and entertainment operations.

What does your day to day look like?

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to television, entertainment, content and production teams.
  • Draft, review and negotiate talent, presenter, production, commissioning and content agreements.
  • Advise on intellectual property, copyright, licensing, rights acquisitions and content exploitation opportunities.
  • Partner with commercial teams on sponsorship, partnership, advertising and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Provide advice on defamation, privacy, consumer law, regulatory compliance and reputational risk matters.
  • Support content teams on production-related legal issues from development through to delivery.
  • Manage disputes, claims and external legal counsel where required.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and provide commercially focused legal guidance that enables business outcomes.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in media, entertainment, production or content-focused legal roles.
  • Strong commercial contracting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in intellectual property, content rights, licensing and media law.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with sound commercial judgement.
  • The ability to partner confidently with senior leaders in a fast-paced environment.
