What You Will Do:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care and patient advocacy
  • Assist with exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Support with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
  • Educate clients and support strong client relationships
  • Collaborate closely with a team that values communication and teamwork

Full-Time Benefits and Compensation**

  • Compensation: $17-$25 per hour*
  • Bonus Package: Up to $2,000 depending on experience and credentials
  • CE Allowance: Up to $1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
  • Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of New Mexico (preferred)
  • Proficiency in the following skills (preferred):
      • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
      • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
      • Anesthesia induction and monitoring
      • Dental prophylaxis and radiography
      • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
      • Radiology positioning and safety protocols

Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic is a 2-doctor practice in beautiful Taos, New Mexico, where you'll enjoy a diverse caseload and the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine in a collaborative environment. Our team provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats while also treating minor exotics, including birds, reptiles, and pocket pets, giving technicians the chance to expand and utilize a broad range of skills. In addition to preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, we offer cold laser therapy to support patient recovery and comfort. We pride ourselves on delivering compassionate, individualized care while fostering a supportive team culture where learning, collaboration, and exceptional patient care are always the priority.

This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
