About this role

Roles and Responsibilities Documentation Management: Prepare and verify critical trade documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (BL), and Airway Bills. Handle specialized paperwork such as Certificates of Origin, Letters of Credit (LC), and Shipping Bills. Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for audit and statutory purposes. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade), Customs, RBI, and FEMA guidelines. Manage export incentive schemes such as Duty Drawback, MEIS/RODTEP, and Advance Licenses. Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HSN) to determine correct tariffs and duties. Logistics & Coordination: Liaise with Custom House Agents (CHA), freight forwarders, and shipping lines for smooth cargo clearance. Track real-time shipment status and proactively resolve delays or logistical bottlenecks. Negotiate freight rates and select the most efficient transport modes (sea, air, or land) to optimize costs. Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with internal departments like Finance, Sales, and Procurement to align shipment schedules with inventory needs. Communicate directly with overseas clients and suppliers regarding shipment updates and documentation requirements. Reporting & MIS: Prepare periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports detailing shipment costs, performance metrics (KPIs), and compliance status. Essential Skills Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms, international trade laws, and customs procedures. Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for filing. Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
