As a Fiber Splicer I, you will work alongside experienced team members to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic infrastructure in both aerial and underground environments. This position offers hands-on experience, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to work on projects that directly impact the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in aerial and underground network environments.

• Perform fiber optic troubleshooting and restoration activities to maintain reliable customer service.

• Utilize testing equipment, including OTDRs and power meters, to verify network performance and identify issues.

• Read and maintain fiber records, splice diagrams, and project documentation.

• Assist with fiber construction activities, including cable placement, pole transfers, conduit work, and enclosure installations.

• Follow company, OSHA, and industry safety standards while performing all work activities.

• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• 1-3 years of experience in the broadband industry with fiber optic cabling and splicing experience desired.

• Basic knowledge of fiber optic construction, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Experience using fiber testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, or similar tools preferred.

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. CDL preferred or ability to obtain if required.

• Ability to read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and network records.

• Ability to work overtime, emergency call-outs, on-call rotations, and occasional travel as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
