The Role: 

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining ATC’s fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational readiness within a modern, state-of-the-art workshop environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Maintenance and repair of HGVs, trailers, and vans 

• Routine servicing and CVRT preparation 

• 12/13-week inspections 

• Diagnostics and fault finding 

• Preventative maintenance scheduling 

• Tail lift inspections and tyre coordination 

• Maintain records and reports 

• Support apprentice development-  

• Maintain clean and safe work environment 

Requirements

About you:

• Qualified HGV Mechanic with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. 

• Strong diagnostic abilities with a high standard of technical competence. 

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team 

• Strong IT and reporting skills. 

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a strong work ethic. 

• Excellent timekeeping and reliability. 

• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks efficiently. 

• Experience with MAN, DAF, Mercedes, Volvo, Scania; Krone/Schmitz trailers; Dhollandia tail lifts; and auto‑electrical/telematics systems (desirable).
