KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Reception & Hospitality
- Welcome all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables and present menus.
- Ensure guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued throughout their visit.
- Recognise returning guests, VIPs, and loyalty programme members where possible.
- Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional attitude at all times.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
- Provide accurate information about restaurant operating hours, menus, promotions, and hotel facilities.
Reservations & Seating Management
- Manage restaurant reservations using the hotel's reservation system.
- Answer telephone calls, emails, and online reservation enquiries professionally.
- Confirm, modify, and cancel reservations as required.
- Maintain an accurate reservation diary.
- Allocate tables efficiently to maximise seating capacity while maintaining guest comfort.
- Coordinate walk-in guests and waiting lists during busy periods.
- Monitor table availability and turnover.
- Ensure seating arrangements accommodate guest preferences, accessibility requirements, and special occasions.
Guest Service Excellence
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the guest journey.
- Respond promptly to guest enquiries and requests.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and refer complex issues to the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
- Assist guests with menu enquiries and direct detailed food and beverage questions to service team members, where appropriate.
- Coordinate celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, and special events.
- Maintain guest confidentiality and professionalism.
Restaurant Coordination
- Maintain close communication with restaurant servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff regarding table status and service flow.
- Inform service team members of VIP arrivals, large groups, and special requests.
- Coordinate seating during peak service periods to ensure balanced server workloads.
- Assist with organising private dining and group reservations.
- Support restaurant operations during busy service periods.
Restaurant Presentation
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organised, and welcoming.
- Maintain menus in excellent condition and replace damaged menus when necessary.
- Ensure podium, reservation system, and reception equipment are operational.
- Monitor restaurant entrance, waiting area, and guest flow.
- Maintain appropriate music, lighting, and ambience in the reception area where applicable.
Communication & Administration
- Maintain accurate guest reservation records.
- Record guest preferences and special requests where applicable.
- Prepare daily reservation reports.
- Communicate important operational information during shift handovers.
- Assist with guest feedback collection and documentation.
Support administrative duties as assigned by management
