The Fund Accounting Manager will join a dynamic real estate funds business with responsibilities across multiple disciplines. They will be responsible for overseeing the client reporting and governance of a diverse portfolio of UK and European real estate funds, while building strong relationships with clients, fund managers, asset managers and external service providers. The role combines technical accounting with commercial exposure, stakeholder management and process improvement, offering excellent opportunities to develop within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly and quarterly financial reporting for a portfolio of UK and European real estate funds, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery.

  • Review financial statements and challenge accounting treatments to ensure compliance with IFRS and fund reporting requirements.

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items and ensure robust financial controls are maintained.

  • Oversee VAT and CIS reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and filing requirements.

  • Present financial reporting to clients, responding to queries and building trusted, long-term client relationships.

  • Act as a key finance contact for fund teams, asset managers, operations teams and clients, providing technical accounting and financial support.

  • Manage relationships with third-party administrators, auditors, tax advisers and other external service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Coordinate and manage year-end audit processes, resolving technical queries and implementing recommendations arising from external reviews.

  • Support the financial management of funds through cash flow monitoring, governance and operational oversight.

  • Lead the financial onboarding of new clients and mandates, establishing robust reporting processes, controls and stakeholder relationships.

  • Support tender processes and the appointment of new service providers where required.

  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting, systems and finance processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy and scalability.

  • Share financial knowledge with non-finance stakeholders and contribute to cross-functional collaboration across the business.

Required competencies:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience reviewing financial reporting under IFRS.

  • Experience working within real estate, investment management, funds or professional services is desirable.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.

  • Commercially minded, proactive and solutions-focused, with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
