Work mode: Hybride from Gdańsk office

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Administer, monitor, and support MSSQL database environments.
  • Perform database installations, upgrades, migrations, patching, and decommissioning activities.
  • Configure and maintain database replication, log shipping, standby databases, and high-availability solutions.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and restoration testing.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning recommendations.
  • Perform database health checks, capacity planning, space management, and growth forecasting.
  • Create and maintain database objects, schemas, users, roles, and security permissions.
  • Troubleshoot database incidents, connectivity issues, slow-running queries, and production outages.
  • Execute maintenance activities including index rebuilds, fragmentation management, statistics updates, and log maintenance.
  • Support SSIS and SSRS environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for database administration tasks.
  • Participate in change management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide escalation support, mentor team members, and contribute to operational excellence.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and support 24x7 production environments when required.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 4+ years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and architecture.
  • Solid understanding of SQL performance tuning and query optimisation.
  • Experience with database backup strategies, recovery processes, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of high availability technologies including replication and log shipping.
  • Experience with database maintenance, monitoring, and capacity management.
  • Good understanding of database structures, indexes, file groups, and memory management.
  • Experience working with Windows Server environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience administering Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of database migration and upgrade projects.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical environments operating 24x7.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management practices.
  • Shell scripting or automation experience.
  • Pre-sales or transition management experience is an advantage.
