The STEP Academy at Baruch College (a STEM academic enrichment and college preparation program) has several open instructor positions for the fall semester. The Fall 2026 Program runs for 10 Saturdays: October 3 through December 12, excluding November 28.
Please note: These courses are non-credit, introductory and culminating workshop series. Participants do not receive an official grade. Interview request for eligible candidates will start in early September.

High School Math Instructor (In-Person)
Course Title: Geometry Review | Schedule: 9am-10:25am
Course Description: This course will review topics from the NYSED curriculum in the preparation for the June 2027 regents exam.
Additional Information: This introductory, first semester course is designed for students who already passed Algebra 1 and/or will take a geometry course at their schools this fall.
Summary of Responsibilities
Plan, teach and prepare materials for 15-18 students
Evaluate student and group performance
Provide staff with measurable results in student learning through assessments
Monitor and maintain student attendance records
Reassess curriculum based on student needs, interest, and understanding of material
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
Availability for each program day from 9am – 10:25am
Strong background in geometry
Experience in a teaching capacity in the subject area
Prior experience with designing and implementing a geometry workshop series/curriculum
Have a strong classroom management style
Preferred:
Degree in a STEM or education
Prior tutoring or teaching experience with high school
Ability to engage students with creative lessons and innovative teaching style
Possess good interpersonal skills with adolescents and a strong understanding of their maturity levels
Enthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities
Pay Range:
$45 hourly
