In 2021, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) issued a U54 Funding Opportunity Announcement to establish a Radiation Oncology-Biology Integration Network. Professor Haas-Kogan directs a Harvard/UCSF response to this “ROBIN” initiative. Her team (KIDSOBIN) studies genetically informative neuro-ectodermal cancers of children with the broad goal of transforming radiation oncology from a physically targeted, primarily anatomically-based modality, to a biology-driven field. Her KIDSROBIN team generates large amounts of disparate electronic data (imaging, genomics, proteomics, and dosimetry) that must be de-identified, standardized and uploaded into the NCI’s Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC). As a Northeastern University Coop student working towards her MS in Bioinformatics, Ms. Sultana has technical skills essential to this task. Accordingly, she will assist the KIDSROBIN team in processing and uploading its electronic data into the CRDC. She may also have the opportunity to engage in some “wet laboratory” research on the comparative impact of proton versus photon therapy on the pediatric brain cancer cells.

Pay Transparency Statement

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
