The Group Statutory Controller will be a key member of the group finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Group Reporting and Group Accountant. They will oversee the local statutory accounts reporting process across the group, working with local statutory controllers and auditors to ensure consistent delivery of timely and high quality statutory reporting under relevant local accounting standard.

They will also drive operational excellence in the statutory reporting process, identifying areas for improvement in the statutory control environment and intercompany process.

OPPORTUNITIES

  • You will work closely with local statutory controllers to ensure timely delivery of subsidiary statutory accounts to meet local reporting and borrowing covenant deadlines
  • You will provide technical support to local statutory controllers on preparation of local statutory accounts, including goodwill/intangible asset impairment reviews and accounting for investments and intercompany balances
  • You will develop strong working relationship with local external auditors to ensure smooth audit process and minimize audit issues
  • You will act as a key point of contact for local statutory controllers, identifying common reporting/control issues and implementing solutions together with the group finance team
  • You will communicate reporting issues on a timely basis to the Head of Group Reporting and work with the group finance and local finance team to resolve issues identified
  • You will oversee reconciliation process between local statutory and group reported numbers, and drive improvements in the timeliness and accuracy of the reconciliation process
  • You will coordinate with local controllers, treasury and group finance team to identify and drive improvements to intercompany accounting process, including mitigation of material FX exposures and settlement of intercompany positions
  • You will work closely with Head of Group Reporting  on any other ad hoc activities and projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • You should be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with proven experience of working in multi-national reporting environment
  • You should have proven organizational, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact at all staff levels
  • You should be fast and responsive – working to tight deadlines
  • You should be a team player, maintaining close working relationship with relevant teams across the group
  • You should have good analytical skills and close attention to detail
  • You should have up to date knowledge of IFRS reporting and proven track record on preparation/sign off of statutory accounts
  • You should have exposure to consolidation /  Multi currency / Intercompany positions
  • You should have exposure of Oracle ERP system
