Role Overview:

The candidate will be dedicated full time to providing senior management oversight and technical leadership associated with managing and continuous improvement of a specific Apex client’s enterprise-wide Hazardous Materials and Regulated Waste database. 

This global icon client’s database tracking solution is used by 80+ client sites to track hazardous materials from request to procurement through storage, inventory, and point of use consumption.  In summary, this database is the client’s enterprise system for hazardous materials accountability.  Many of this client’s sites also use this database for Hazardous Waste tracking.

The fundamental work statement for this role:

  • Mentor current HazTrax personnel, and support knowledge transfer to the HazTrax team
  • Provide leadership support in responding to emergent HazTrax system issues
  • Review current HazTrax guidance and training documentation, and update this documentation as needed
  • Support the transition & rollout of HazTrax mobile scanners (new software and new hardware) to sites enterprise-wide
    • Including testing & validation, and development and execution of a deployment plan, including the related training

Key HazTrax Database Components:

  • Electronic Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Inventory (HazCom Compliance)
  • Gatekeeping (BENCh) – Material Authorized Use List
  • Procurement (order process – Ariba Interface)   
  • Receiving and Tracking
  • Quality Assurance Receiving & Inspection – Time and Temperature Sensitive (TATS) monitoring, Material traceability
  • Repackaging and Labeling (including GHS labeling –ICONs and Hazard warnings)
  • Warehousing – material storage and issue          
  • Point of Use – floor inventory   
  • Hazardous Waste Inspections / Dated Waste Drum management
  • TSCA (Export control Flag)
  • Company Site Security Annual Risk Assessment (SSARA)
    (HazMat and chemical facility anti-terrorism standards.)
  • EPA Regulatory Compliance Reporting (SARA 311 Chemical Storage, 312 Initial over threshold, 313 Chemical Consumption, Green House Gas (GHG))
  • Jurisdictional Permitting (NESHAPS, air and building permitting)
  • Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act of 1986 (40 CFR 372)

While the prominent technical areas associated with this position involve Hazardous Materials and Regulated Waste, a basic technical skillset in Industrial Hygiene is also desirable. The candidate will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results within budget and timeframe.

Your Responsibilities as a Hazardous Materials and Regulated Waste Database Management Manager:

  • In close routine collaboration with the external customer, implements and executes the agreed-to work statement. Reports activity / progress on the work statement as directed. 
  • Works with numerous internal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall database management results
  • Works with the overall Apex client relationship manager to ensure that the work statement is completed as agreed, and within budget.
  • Provides input to client relationship managers or business development staff on potential new Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) projects borne from daily execution of the work statement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related scientific field 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience  

 

Annual Expected Pay Range
$95,000—$115,000 USD
