Head Chef
About this role
Are you passionate about food, wine, and Spain? Then this might be the opportunity you're looking for.
Delicatessen Tapasbar opened its doors at Grünerløkka in Oslo in 1999. What started as a single restaurant has since grown into five locations across Norway. Over the years, we've helped make Spanish tapas a natural part of the Norwegian restaurant scene, and we're proud to welcome guests who return year after year, whether it's for a family dinner, a glass of wine with friends, a celebration, or simply their favourite dishes shared around the table.
We're now looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen in Stavanger.
Delicatessen Stavanger is a relatively small restaurant with a close-knit team, and we're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on and involved in the daily operation. This is not a role where you'll spend your days behind a desk. As Head Chef, you'll be working alongside the team in service, leading by example and helping ensure that every shift runs smoothly.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the kitchen. You'll lead and develop the team, oversee staffing and schedules, manage ordering and inventory, monitor food costs, and ensure compliance with food safety and IK-Mat requirements. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll help create a positive kitchen culture built on teamwork, consistency, and pride in what we do.
You'll also be responsible for our catering operation, which is currently a small but important part of the business. The focus is on running it efficiently, while helping identify opportunities for future growth.
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, developing people, and being part of the service itself. You may already be a Head Chef, or perhaps you're an experienced Sous Chef ready for the next step. Either way, you're organized, dependable, and comfortable leading from the front. You understand that in a smaller restaurant, leadership isn't about giving instructions from the sidelines. It's about being part of the team, stepping in where needed, and helping everyone succeed together.
The right candidate is passionate about hospitality, enjoys working with people, and thrives in an environment where no two days are exactly alike. Experience with Spanish cuisine is an advantage, but not a requirement.
