Job Summary: Our client, who operates in the mining and transport industry, is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function at its Head Office. The role will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll, compliance, training and development, and organizational design. The ideal candidate will ensure HR strategies align with business objectives and regulatory requirements, while promoting a positive work culture across diverse operational teams within the mining and transport industry. Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals in the mining and transport sectors. Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and talent retention to meet operational demands. Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes in compliance with Tanzanian labor laws. Supervise payroll processing, compensation, and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance. Implement and monitor employee wellness, health, and safety programs in line with national regulations. Maintain and optimize the HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring accurate employee records and reporting. Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures across the organization. Coordinate performance appraisal processes and lead training, development, and succession planning initiatives. Liaise with employee unions, manage collective bargaining processes, and represent the company in labor-related matters. Generate and analyze HR reports to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. Requirements Over 8 years of professional experience, preferably within the mining or transport industry, including at least four years in a management role. Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices. Proven experience in change management, organizational development, and workforce planning. Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments with diverse teams. Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS), payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage employee relations and union engagements. Experience in designing and implementing employee wellness, health, and safety programs compliant with OSHA, NHIF, and WCF standards.
