About This Role:

As the Head of Talent Acquisition for Biogen North America & Global Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Talent Acquisition strategy across our Commercial division. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Talent Acquisition Business Partners & Executive Search, you are a key strategic leader within our Global Talent Acquisition team. Your mission will be to enhance Biogen’s ability to attract, assess, and hire top-tier global talent, influencing enterprise-wide priorities. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior business and HR executives, aligning talent acquisition strategies with business objectives and external market dynamics. Operating at an enterprise scale, you will drive innovation, strengthen TA capabilities, and ensure a high-impact, efficient, and compliant recruitment model across Biogen North America and Global Products & Commercialization. You will support hiring across six franchises with an annual U.S. revenue of approximately $5.7 billion, representing nearly 60% of Biogen's global revenue. This role is essential in enabling talent strategies for a rapidly growing portfolio of marketed products in North America.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and drive Talent Acquisition strategy for BNA & GPSC, aligning with enterprise priorities and enabling business growth.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior executives and HR leaders, influencing workforce strategy and hiring priorities.
  • Own and lead end-to-end Talent Acquisition delivery for complex commercial builds and business-critical growth initiatives.
  • Lead a multi-layered Talent Acquisition organization (FTEs, contractors, and outsourced partners (RPO).
  • Build and scale a high performing TA function by strengthening leadership capability, optimizing organizational design, and embedding best-in-class recruiting practices and analytics- driven decision making.
  • Drive enterprise workforce planning and talent strategy execution, anticipating risks and proactively shaping solutions.
  • Align and influence a complex ecosystem of cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless end-to-end hiring processes.
  • Define and lead external talent partnership strategies, strengthening Biogen’s competitive position in key talent markets.
  • Champion and elevate the employer brand and candidate experience across all global touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with TA Centers of Excellence to deliver a fully integrated TA service model for BNA.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of TA technologies, enabling enhanced recruiter effectiveness and improved candidate engagement.
  • Shape and evolve the Talent Acquisition operating model for BNA, driving continuous improvement and scalability.
  • Act as a senior leader within Global Talent Acquisition, contributing to enterprise-wide strategy and transformation efforts.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience within a global, matrixed organization.
  • Extensive experience operating at a senior leadership level with the ability to influence executive stakeholders.
  • 8+ years of people leadership experience, managing large, multi-region, or global teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, large-scale Talent Acquisition functions.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into talent strategies and scalable hiring models.
  • Pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing sourcing, branding, and talent attraction strategies.
  • Strong track record of building trusted executive relationships and establishing credibility across stakeholder groups.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical capability to drive insights and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated track record of sound judgment and decision-making in complex environments.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (domestic and international) to support recruitment initiatives; expected travel approximately 15%.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $196,000.00-$269,500.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
