We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Airdrie. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and passionate health and safety professional who has experience working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture across the site, ensuring compliance with legislation, and supporting operational teams in achieving best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day health and safety guidance and support to all departments.
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and safety audits.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to employees and managers.
- Support the development and implementation of health and safety initiatives and improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, and KPI data.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including customer and certification audits.
- Work closely with operational teams to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous Health & Safety experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or production environment.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage people at all levels of the business.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
