Job Description

Health Information Specialist is primarily responsible for the maintenance, auditing, disclosure, and release of the medical record in both paper and electronic format, including but not limited to: scanning, capturing, and uploading documents; analyzing the chart for accuracy and completeness; and reconciling and destruction of paper charts and records.

Qualifications

What is required...

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional training/education in a healthcare discipline OR prior experience in a health information management department with an electronic health record

What is preferred...

  • Successful completion of a medical terminology course

Additional Information

Wage:  Wage range currently starts at $21.83/hour and goes up to $33.08/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.  

FTE:  1.0 (40 hours/week)

Benefits:  This position is benefits eligible

Union Status:  This is a non union covered position
