Under general supervision, the Histotechnologist performs all aspects of histologic slide preparations for diagnosis including routine and special tests, maintenance and quality control, and computer functions.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in science with at least two (2) years of full-time experience in histopathology within the last five (5) years OR
- Successful completion of an accredited histotechnology program, registry eligible OR
- Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of full time experience in histopathology within the last five (5) years.
Licensure:
Certification as a registered HT or HTL by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) preferred.
Experience:
Dependent upon level of education acquired
Skills:
- Knowledge of histologic theory, practices, and standards
- Skills in cellular evaluation and interpretation
- Skill in oral, written and interpersonal communication
- Skill in basic computers
- Skill in basic mathematics, data analysis and problem solving
- Ability to operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment.
- Ability to prioritize work, organize and transfer data accurately.
Physical Requirement:
- Requires manual dexterity, good visual acuity, including color perception
- Able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Some heavy lifting up to 30 pounds
Pay Range
$27.32 - $44.80
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
