HR Lead
Bengaluru, IndiaFull-timeSenior · 10-12 years
About this role
ROLE OVERVIEW
As HR Lead, you will own the full people function at SuperK from building the systems and processes that do
not yet exist, to leading and developing the HR team on the ground. You will be the thinking layer between the
founders, leaders, and the HR team, driving decisions on org design, engagement, L&D, and policy, and
ensuring SuperK's employee experience keeps pace with its growth. This role reports directly to the founders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring they operate with clarity, accountability, and growing
independence.
• Build and own the induction and onboarding framework, including 30-60-90 day plans, manager
readiness, and structured knowledge transfer for new hires.
• Drive employee engagement through meaningful pulse checks, structured connect programs, and
proactive relationship-building with mid and senior management, not just events.
• Own the policy framework, reviewing, updating, and implementing people policies that are practical,
compliant, and suited to a fast-scaling retail business.
• Support org design and structure, helping leaders think through team builds, reporting lines, and role
clarity as SuperK expands.
• Build and manage the employer brand, owning the career page, LinkedIn presence, and candidate
experience to attract the right talent at scale.
• Oversee L&D at a foundation level: identify gaps, design lightweight learning interventions, and build a
training muscle within the team.
• Own HR compliance and audit, ensuring the organisation meets all statutory and regulatory requirements
at every stage of growth.
• Own payroll governance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate checks across the payroll function.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• 10-12 years of HR generalist experience, with meaningful time spent in retail, FMCG, consumer internet,
or a similarly ops-heavy environment.
• A track record of building HR from the ground up: you have been the first or early HR hire, set up
processes from scratch, and know what zero to one actually looks like.
• Strong stakeholder influencing skills: you are comfortable pushing back on senior leaders and guiding
them, not just executing what they ask.
• Breadth over depth: you have done enough across engagement, L&D, policy, compliance, and TA to lead
a generalist team and know when to bring in specialists.
• Genuine connect with the ground: you have worked with non-white-collar employees, understand their
world, and can build trust across levels, not just with leadership.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where systems are still being built and speed matters.
WHY SUPERK
• Be the architect of the people function at one of India's fastest-growing retail businesses: you will build
what does not exist and own what you build.
• Work directly with founders and leaders who are deeply invested in culture and people, not just business
metrics.
• Lead a team and have real authority: this is not a support function role.
• Join a brand that is redefining grocery retail for small-town India, with the scale to match the ambition.
