Position Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and design innovative consumer products, driving key aspects of product definition, execution, and testing. Perform test validation on next-generation devices, identifying and validating product risks, and working with design teams to mitigate them. Define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability, including experimental design and execution. Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms, products under development, and products in the field. Utilize MATLAB-based software environments to create new test systems, including algorithm development, equipment calibration methods, instrument I/O, and automated measurements.
An HDE III designs and develops high tech products such as Graphical Processing Units (GPUs), servers, Information Technology (IT) solutions, and specialized robotics. They set design requirements, review schematics and layouts, work closely with engineers from other engineering disciplines. Perform risk assessments, and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), then feed this information into the design. They set the criteria to verify and validate the reliability and safe operation of the product.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Material Science, or a related field, and three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and three years of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): (1) experimental design and execution skills, with the ability to define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability; and (2) identifying and validating product risks, and working collaboratively with design teams to mitigate them.
