ICT Architect(Expert)

A public sector organization in Belgium is looking for an experienced ICT Architect specializing in network infrastructure and security. You will join a professional IT environment supporting a large internal user base and multiple external institutions integrated into the network ecosystem. The role involves designing, optimizing, and securing the network architecture while supporting ongoing infrastructure and migration initiatives. The architect will work closely with operations and project teams to ensure scalability, security, and continuity of services. Requirements · Design and maintain enterprise network architecture · Support infrastructure migration and integration initiatives · Provide architectural governance and technical guidance · Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services · Support complex incident resolution and technical troubleshooting · Document architecture, processes, and knowledge transfer materials · Drive infrastructure standardization and optimization · Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams Required Skills & Expertise Must Have · Extensive experience as ICT or Enterprise Architect · Strong background in network architecture and infrastructure · Hands-on experience with Extreme Networks technologies · Experience with Extreme Fabric · Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) · Strong knowledge of network infrastructure design · Experience with network configuration and system management · Knowledge of modeling frameworks such as TOGAF, Archimate, UML · Fluent Dutch language skills Should Have · Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking · Experience with Routing & Switching · Experience with network security architecture · Experience documenting technical processes and knowledge transfer · Understanding of enterprise architecture domains · Familiarity with project management concepts Nice to Have · Experience with Palo Alto security solutions · Experience with SD-WAN technologies Soft Skills · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to bridge architecture, design, and operations
