Institutional Contract Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including but not limited to institutional agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, service agreements, technology and licensing arrangements, and strategic partnerships.
- Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle process, from intake, redlining, and approval workflows to execution, archiving, renewal, and termination management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal business units (e.g., procurement, operations, tech, finance) to provide clear and timely legal support during commercial negotiations.
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, internal policies, and corporate governance requirements.
- Coordinate with external counsel as necessary for complex negotiations or multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Develop and maintain a centralized contract management system to monitor key obligations, renewal deadlines, and risk triggers.
- Proactively identify legal and commercial risks in contracts and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Support the continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and processes to increase operational efficiency and consistency.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant internal teams on contract terms and legal risk considerations
Requirements:
- A law degree (LLB, JD, Mag. iur., LL.M., or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, preferably within an in-house legal team, regulatory authority, or reputable law firm
- Strong understanding of Austrian and EU laws relating to international contract law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience handling official legal requests such as court orders, or administrative inquiries.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment with high integrity and discretion.
