Interim HR Operations & Payroll Lead – Banking & Financial Services
For a client within banking and financial services, we are looking for an experienced HR Operations & Payroll Lead for a full-time interim maternity cover assignment starting in October and lasting for 14-20 months.
In this role, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR Operations delivery, with a particular focus on payroll, HR administration and vendor management. You will lead and support a small Operations team consisting of a Payroll Administrator and an HR Administrator, while working closely with the wider Nordic HR team.
Payroll is outsourced to an external provider across four Nordic countries, and the current in-house process involves manual intervention when providing input and performing monthly controls. You therefore need to be comfortable working hands-on with payroll on a regular basis.

Additionally, you will be responsible for leading implementation of other smaller scale HR tech projects to improve employee experience.
The organisation is on a broader transformation journey, with a focus on increased automation and future system implementations. Experience or a strong interest in HR tech, process automation and system implementation is therefore highly valued.
We are looking for someone with:
Solid experience within payroll and HR Operations (both as an individual contributor and a leader)
Experience managing and quality-assuring external payroll providers
Strong hands-on payroll knowledge and attention to detail
Experience leading or coaching a small team
An interest and experience in HR tech, automation and process improvement
Experience with benefits and/or HR system implementations is a plus
The ability to quickly understand new organisations and thrive in a role that evolves over time
Scope: 100%
Start: October
Location: Stockholm, office-based
As always with interim assignments, the process moves quickly, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
Independent consultants operating through their own company are also very welcome to apply.
