About this role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and control-focused Inventory & Asset Controller to ensure accurate management, tracking, and accountability of inventory, materials, tools, equipment, and company assets across construction sites and head office operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing asset registers, controlling stock movements, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring all inventory and asset transactions are properly recorded through the Odoo ERP system. This role requires strong inventory management skills, attention to detail, ERP proficiency, and the ability to maintain effective controls to minimize losses and improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, tools, equipment, and other inventory items against approved Purchase Orders (POs) and Goods Received Notes (GRNs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with procurement documentation. Record all inventory receipts, stock movements, transfers, and issues accurately within the Odoo ERP system to maintain real-time inventory visibility. Monitor daily inventory transactions and ensure all materials issued, transferred, or consumed are properly documented and approved. Prepare and maintain daily inventory movement reports highlighting receipts, issues, transfers, consumption, and stock balances. Conduct regular stock monitoring and investigate inventory discrepancies, negative stock balances, and unusual movements to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate inventory records across construction sites and head office locations, ensuring proper stock accountability and traceability. Coordinate with site teams, procurement, finance, and operations departments to ensure smooth inventory control processes and timely availability of materials. Develop and maintain a comprehensive asset register covering company equipment, tools, machinery, and other fixed assets. Track asset location, assigned custodians, usage status, condition, and movement history to ensure proper asset accountability. Conduct periodic physical verification of inventory and assets to confirm accuracy between physical balances and system records. Monitor asset repairs, maintenance requirements, transfers, and disposal processes while ensuring proper documentation and approvals are maintained. Prepare weekly site stock reports, monthly inventory reconciliation reports, and asset movement reports for management review. Identify and report potential cases of stock loss, misuse, unauthorized movements, or asset mismanagement to the Finance Manager. Enforce inventory and asset control procedures by stopping undocumented stock movements and escalating control breaches immediately. Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate inventory records, asset documentation, and reconciliation reports. Continuously improve inventory and asset management processes through effective controls, system utilization, and operational best practices. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, asset management, stock management, or a related role. Experience working within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments will be an added advantage. Hands-on experience using ERP systems, preferably Odoo ERP or similar inventory management systems. Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, stock reconciliation, asset tracking, and documentation controls. Ability to interpret inventory reports, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping. Good understanding of warehouse procedures, material handling, and inventory control practices. Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple teams including finance, procurement, operations, and site personnel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate inventory variances. High level of integrity, accountability, and responsibility when handling company assets and materials. Good communication skills with the ability to prepare clear reports and maintain accurate documentation. Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and inventory verification exercises will be an added advantage.
