Job Description

1. Technical Analysis & Solution Design

  1. Translate functional requirements into detailed technical analysis and implementation specifications.
  2. Analyse impacts on Java applications, APIs, backend services, interfaces, databases, and dependent systems.
  3. Identify technical dependencies, constraints, risks, and integration challenges.
  4. Define and document API contracts, interface behaviours, message flows, data mappings, and error-handling mechanisms.
  5. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and quality gates.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  1. Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests.
  2. Support testers by explaining technical scenarios, interface behaviours, integration flows, and expected results.
  3. Participate in test preparation, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
  4. Ensure delivered solutions meet quality, performance, security, and maintainability requirements.

2. Soft Skills

Mandatory

  1. Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex application and integration landscapes.
  2. Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to propose pragmatic and maintainable solutions.
  3. Ownership and accountability for the quality and completeness of both analysis and development activities.
  4. Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

 

3. Hard Skills

  1. Strong Java development and technical analysis skills (Java 21/25 preferred).
  2. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  3. Experience with backend development, distributed systems, APIs, and integration patterns.
  4. Ability to analyse and implement API contracts, payloads, message flows, data mappings, and system integrations.
  5. Experience designing and developing secure, maintainable, and scalable applications.
  6. Understanding of end-to-end integration between Java applications, mainframe systems, and external partners.
  7. Experience working within Agile squads and contributing to iterative delivery.

4. Tools

Development & Analysis

  1. IntelliJ IDEA and/or Visual Studio Code.
  2. GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or equivalent source control platforms.
  3. Maven or Gradle.

API & Integration

  1. Postman, Bruno, Insomnia, SoapUI.
  2. Swagger / OpenAPI specification tools.

CI/CD & DevOps

  1. Jenkins.
  2. GitLab CI.
  3. CI/CD and deployment automation platforms.

Agile & Collaboration

  1. Jira, Octane, Rally, or equivalent Agile tools.
  2. Confluence.
  3. SharePoint.
  4. UPlant.
  5. BPMN and UML modelling tools.

Monitoring & Operations

  1. Logging, monitoring, and observability tools depending on the application landscape.

5. Knowledge

Core Technical Knowledge

  1. Java ecosystem and object-oriented programming concepts.
  2. REST APIs, backend services, integration patterns, and distributed architectures.
  3. API contract design and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
  4. Message formats, payload modelling, and data mapping.
  5. System integration between Java applications, mainframe systems, and external platforms.
  6. Secure coding practices and application security principles.
  7. Performance, resilience, logging, monitoring, and observability concepts.
  8. Testing practices including unit, integration, and automated testing.
  9. Version control, dependency management, and software delivery lifecycle.

Delivery & Engineering Practices

  1. CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and quality gates.
  2. Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  3. Technical impact analysis across multiple applications and teams.
  4. Collaboration with analysts, developers, architects, testers, and operational teams.

Domain Knowledge

Banking, payments, cards, and digital banking domains are considered significant assets for the Estreem project.

 

6. Required Knowledge

Card Management
