Jr. Compliance Lawyer
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Compliance Lawyer to join our Legal & Compliance team. This is a great opportunity for a final-semester law student or recent graduate who is eager to build a career in the financial industry, gain hands-on experience in regulatory matters, and work alongside experienced legal professionals.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, detail-oriented work and wants to develop a strong foundation in legal and compliance operations within a fast-paced fintech environment.
Location: Mexico City
Challenges that await you:
- Own the day-to-day management of incoming legal and compliance requests, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented responses. This will be the core responsibility of the role.
- Review, organize, prioritize, and follow up on requests received from internal stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the process.
- Support the tracking and coordination of regulatory matters, ensuring documentation is complete and deadlines are met.
- Conduct legal research and preliminary investigations to support the Legal & Compliance team.
- Help identify applicable regulations and understand what actions are permitted under current legal frameworks.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain legal documentation, administrative records, and regulatory files.
- Collaborate with different business areas to gather information required for legal and regulatory processes.
- Support the Legal & Compliance team with day-to-day operational and administrative activities while gaining exposure to financial regulation and compliance.
What makes you a great fit:
- First Year Graduate (or final-semester Law student) with an interest in financial law, regulatory matters, or corporate law.
- Strong interest in developing a career in financial regulation, compliance, or corporate law.
- Advanced English and Spanish (mandatory).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with professionalism when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing operational and administrative responsibilities with accuracy and consistency.
- Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to data privacy (personal data protection) or financial regulation.
- Previous internship or extracurricular experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory matters.
- Interest in working within the fintech or financial services industry.
