About this role

Williams Parker, the region's largest and oldest law firm founded in 1925, is seeking an accomplished Senior Labor & Employment Attorney with approximately 10–15 years of private practice experience and a portable book of business to join our growing Labor & Employment practice.

This opportunity is ideally suited for an attorney located along Florida's Gulf Coast corridor—from North Tampa through St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, Osprey, and North Port—who is looking to expand a sophisticated employer-side practice within a collegial, highly respected law firm platform.

The successful candidate will play a significant role in strengthening the depth, execution capacity, and long-term continuity of our Labor & Employment section while helping employers navigate increasingly complex workplace challenges.

What You Will Do

As a trusted advisor to employers across diverse industries, you will:

  • Counsel employers on complex workplace issues, workforce strategy, risk management, compliance, and employment-related litigation.
  • Conduct and oversee sensitive workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and other employment concerns.
  • Advise employers and insurance carriers on Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) matters, including pre-litigation strategy, claim management, and defense coordination.
  • Represent clients in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, NLRB, Department of Labor, OSHA, and related regulatory bodies.
  • Provide practical and business-oriented guidance on hiring, discipline, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, reductions in force, separations, restrictive covenants, and employee relations matters.
  • Draft, review, and implement employment agreements, executive agreements, separation agreements, handbooks, policies, and workplace procedures.
  • Deliver management training, employment audits, compliance reviews, and proactive risk-assessment programs designed to reduce litigation exposure.
  • Advise employers on emerging workforce issues involving immigration-related employment compliance and workforce mobility, either directly or in collaboration with specialized immigration counsel.
  • Identify and coordinate ERISA-related considerations that arise within broader employment matters while working alongside specialized benefits counsel when appropriate.
  • Develop and expand client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the Labor & Employment practice.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and professional staff to enhance service delivery and practice development.

  • Significant experience advising employers on complex workplace matters involving employee relations, workplace investigations, EPLI claims, wage and hour compliance, accommodations, leave management, labor relations, restrictive covenants, workforce restructuring, and executive employment issues.
  • Experience representing employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including the EEOC, NLRB, Department of Labor, OSHA, and related regulatory bodies.
  • Experience counseling and defending employers in matters arising under federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, whistleblower, affirmative action, and related employment law frameworks.

  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple high-level matters while maintaining exceptional client service.
  • Collaborative leadership style with an interest in mentoring and developing future talent within the practice.
