Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise landscape construction work to maximize productivity and meet project schedules.
- Being hands-on in field construction involved in all aspects of project construction including planning, construction, quality, and safety.
- Communicating to the Foreman upcoming needs for the project including materials, manpower and equipment.
- Identify and resolve field issues before they impact production.
- Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Ensures that all work is being done safely and in an efficient manner that maintains Wilco's excellent quality.
- Train, coach, and develop crew members while identifying future leaders with a focus on Wilco procedures and safe work practices.
- Complete daily reporting, safety documentation, and payroll confirmation using modern field technology.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Landscaping Experience.
- Proven experience as Landscape Lead Hand.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test.
- Demonstrable leadership skills.
- Solid understanding of landscaping, tree and shrub planting, pavers and concrete.
- Comfortable using tablets, construction software, and digital reporting systems.
- Ability to read construction drawings, grades, and survey information.
- Experience with GPS machine control, laser levels, or related construction technology is an asset
- Work unsupervised with a 3-5 person crew.
- Have solid knowledge of the fundamental principals of landscaping including grading, planting and hardscape.
- Valid drivers license.
