Required Education
Higher Vocational Training in Mechatronics, Industrial Master Technician, a Mechanical Engineering degree (or any engineering discipline with a mechanical specialization), or an equivalent qualification, with solid knowledge and practical experience in rotating equipment, preferably centrifugal pumps, or alternatively steam turbines and centrifugal compressors.
Specific Knowledge
· Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the supervision of commissioning activities and field service support for rotating equipment, in Italy, Spain, Portugal and worldwide. Alternatively, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of rotating equipment within workshop environments.
· Native Italian speaker, with excellent verbal communication skills.
· High level of spoken and written English (mandatory) and Spanish (valuable).
· Microsoft 365 package

Purpose of the Position
Provide expert field service, technical support, and supervision for the installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment, with a primary focus on centrifugal pumps. The role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of customer assets by delivering high-quality technical services both at customer sites as well as at the company's Service Centers in Italy and Spain.
The successful candidate will act as a technical representative of the company, contributing to customer satisfaction, equipment reliability, and business growth through professional field service and engineering expertise.
Description of Specific Functions
· Perform the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new centrifugal pumps and related rotating equipment at customer sites across Italy, Spain, Portugal, and worldwide, ensuring compliance with Sulzer standards, customer specifications, and industry best practices.
· Execute all activities associated with equipment installation and commissioning, including mechanical erection and assembly, foundation and baseplate verification, levelling, laser shaft alignment, pre-startup inspections, operational testing, performance verification, troubleshooting, and collection of operational and performance data.
· Carry out inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair activities on rotating equipment at customer facilities as well as at Sulzer Service Centers in Italy, Spain, and, when required, other Sulzer service locations worldwide.
· Utilize specialized diagnostic and maintenance tools and equipment, including laser alignment systems, vibration analysis instruments, precision measuring devices, and a wide range of mechanical and hydraulic hand tools, to ensure safe and accurate execution of field and workshop activities.
· Prepare comprehensive field service documentation, including daily and monthly service reports, commissioning records, inspection findings, technical recommendations, and corrective action plans, providing clear and timely communication to customers and internal stakeholders.
· Provide technical support and on-site expertise during commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities, serving as Sulzer’s technical representative and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational reliability.
· Proactively identify and communicate opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance and maintainability
· Provide technical guidance and direction for repair, inspection and overhaul activities within Service Centers
· Maintain full flexibility and availability for extensive domestic and international travel, with approximately 80% of working time spent at customer sites and 20% at Sulzer Service Centers or workshop facilities.
· Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work on customer sites or project locations for extended periods when required, supporting critical installations, outages, commissioning projects, and maintenance interventions.
· Adhere to all applicable Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with Sulzer policies and customer requirements.
