About this role

Licensed Behavioral Health Professional Team Lead – Admissions 

Griffin Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated Licensed Behavioral Health Professional Team Lead to join its team. This position provides clinical leadership and oversight for the behavioral health/admissions team, serving as a licensed therapist while also supervising staff, ensuring compliance with clinical and admissions standards, and supporting departmental decision-making. Reports directly to the Director of Admissions.  

Key Job Duties  

  • Provide direct clinical services as a licensed therapist — assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy (individual/group/family) for inpatient clients 

  • Lead and supervise the behavioral health team — assign caseloads, mentor staff, serve as clinical resource, provide input on performance and development 

  • Audit admissions — review documentation and admission decisions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance; identify and correct gaps 

  • Make/guide clinical decisions — level-of-care determinations, treatment adjustments, participation in multidisciplinary treatment team reviews 

  • Share on-call rotation — provide after-hours clinical consultation, crisis support, and admissions guidance; coordinate with on-call physicians/nursing 

  • Support departmental decision-making — assist the Director of Admissions in operational and clinical decisions consistent with policy; help implement/revise workflows and protocols 

  • Ensure regulatory/quality compliance — align practices with state licensing, CMS, and accrediting body standards; support audits and incident follow-up 

  • Serve as liaison — coordinate between clinical/admissions team and other departments (nursing, utilization review, medical staff) 

  • Legal and Law Enforcement Interactions - Reviews legal orders, communicates with legal counterparts, coordinates evaluation needs for those in legal custody, processes referrals and transfers from forensic services, assists in ensuring processes follow MHL T43A and state statutes. 

Job Type/Salary:  

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some weekends and holidays required) 

  • Salary: $77,000 - $84,892.50 (commensurate with DMH experience and certifications) 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Licensed Behavioral Health Professional (LBHP) with a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field and full, independent licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LBP, LADC, or equivalent). Additionally, a minimum of three (3) years of experience providing professional behavioral health services to consumers in a state-approved facility or similar healthcare or behavioral health setting is required. 

Special requirements:  

  • Willing to fulfill any job-related travel 

  •  Participation in an on-call rotation unless exempted.  

  • Preference for current ODMHSAS employees

About us: Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults.  GMH provides community crisis stabilization and residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health and trauma related conditions.  

Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-Placement Testing:  Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
