Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Establish processes & drives accountability, planning, execution & LEAN continuous improvement to the flow of parts, tools, and engines through the facility. 
  • Drives focus & continuous improvement in meeting delivery and cost commitments, management of vendor and supplier performance, identification, and escalation of risks to delivery and cost, optimizing of picking rules and ordering practices.
  • Ensures site compliance in areas of tax, import, export, Customs, and dangerous goods requirements.  Establishes record retention processes, understands and supports audits by local authorities, and coaches and trains team members in understanding compliance requirements.
  • Develops & executes site level inventory management including physical audit, physical separation, and forecasting.  Regularly reviews inventory levels and drives strategic actions (includes & not limited to annual physical inventory & monthly cycle counts).  Coaches team on significance of Inventory to the site and the objectives of inventory management.
  • Develops and implements processes to manage store.  Understands Customer and Business expectations and limitations and develops strategy and plan for stock level to optimize business outcomes.
  • Provides People Leadership to Materials organization on site including oversight of salaried, hourly, contractor, or purchased service personnel working in the Materials functional area, identifying functional gaps and hiring to fill.
  • Maintains and enhances policy & procedure and related documentation across GE On Wing Support to describe standard work, best practices, and lessons learned read across opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires 5-year experience in the Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution.
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
