As a Lead Engineer, you will be a hands-on RPA engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise automation solutions using Automation Anywhere Automation 360.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused primarily on bot development, integrations, troubleshooting, production support, and adherence to established automation engineering standards. You will independently deliver medium-to-complex automations while working with Lead/Principal Engineers, business analysts, QA engineers, and business teams throughout the automation lifecycle.

Key Deliverables
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise automations using Automation Anywhere Automation 360.
Remain highly hands-on with bot development, debugging, testing, deployment, and production support.
Translate functional requirements and solution designs into reliable and maintainable Automation Anywhere bots.
Develop automations for web, desktop, Excel, databases, files, APIs, enterprise applications, and legacy systems.
Build reusable components and follow established Automation Anywhere development standards, naming conventions, and coding practices.
Implement robust exception handling, retries, recovery, logging, alerting, configuration management, and audit mechanisms.
Develop and support unattended and attended automation solutions.
Work with Control Room, Bot Agents, Bot Runners, schedules, triggers, queues, and device configurations.
Develop automations using Workload Management (WLM), queues, and workload distribution where required.
Implement secure credential handling using Credential Vault, lockers, service accounts, and established security standards.
Develop and consume REST/SOAP APIs, web services, databases, and other enterprise integrations.
Develop SQL queries and perform database operations required by automation solutions.
Perform unit testing, debugging, peer reviews, and technical validation before handing solutions over for QA.
Troubleshoot bot failures, application issues, integration failures, and environment-related problems.
Perform root-cause analysis and resolve production defects in partnership with Lead Engineers and platform/support teams.
Support bot deployments, environment promotion, release activities, and post-production validation.
Use Git/source control and established CI/CD/DevSecOps processes for automation development and deployment.
Monitor production automations and identify opportunities to improve performance, stability, and resiliency.
Participate in code reviews and implement recommendations from Lead and Principal Engineers.
Maintain technical documentation, configuration details, support documentation, and operational runbooks.
·Support platform upgrades, bot migrations, regression testing, and compatibility assessments.
Follow enterprise RPA CoE standards, security requirements, development guidelines, and governance processes.
Support junior automation engineers through technical guidance and peer reviews.

Technical/Business Skills:
5+ years of software development, automation, or RPA experience.
3+ years of hands-on Automation Anywhere experience, preferably with significant experience using Automation 360.
Strong hands-on experience developing, debugging, deploying, and supporting Automation Anywhere bots.
Good understanding of Automation 360, including Control Room, Bot Agent, Bot Runner, queues, schedules, triggers, and deployment concepts.
Experience implementing exception handling, retries, recovery, logging, alerting, and configuration-management patterns.
Experience with Credential Vault, lockers, credential management, and secure bot-development practices.
Experience with Workload Management (WLM), queues, and workload distribution.
Experience developing automations involving web applications, desktop applications, Excel, files, databases, and enterprise systems.
Experience developing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs and web services.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL/MySQL, or equivalent.
Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, .NET, or equivalent.
Experience with source control such as Git and familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
Experience performing unit testing, debugging, defect resolution, and production support.
Good understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, testing, deployment, release management, and production-support processes.
Understanding of enterprise security, credential management, auditability, and data-protection requirements.
Ability to independently develop and support medium-to-complex enterprise automations.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
Automation Anywhere Certified Essentials Professional – Required
Automation Anywhere Certified Advanced Professional – Required
Automation Anywhere Certified Master RPA Professional – Preferred / Added Advantage
Current/active applicable Automation Anywhere certifications are expected.
Candidate should maintain knowledge of current Automation 360 capabilities and development best practices.
For this P3 position, Advanced Professional certification represents the expected certification level. Master-level certification is valuable but is not required because this position is primarily focused on hands-on engineering and delivery rather than solution architecture or enterprise technical ownership.
