The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a part-time, term faculty position at the rank of Lecturer to teach a graduate course in group counseling in the department’s Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching an in-person graduate-level course focused on the theory and practice of group counseling. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course instruction, facilitating experiential learning activities, evaluating student learning, and providing students with feedback and guidance consistent with doctoral-level training in counseling psychology.
The appointment is for the Spring 2027 semester, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027.
Master’s degree in counseling or clinical psychology by the start date of the appointment
Training or professional experience in group counseling or group psychotherapy
Ph.D. in counseling or clinical psychology
Experience providing group counseling or psychotherapy
Experience working with or training doctoral students in counseling psychology
Evidence of effective teaching
Current licensure as a psychologist
