Looking for a flexible role where you can apply your legal, compliance or governance expertise and make a genuine impact?

We're seeking a practical and organised Legal & Compliance Advisor to join our Christchurch-based Risk, Legal and Compliance team for 20 hours per week. Reporting to and working closely with our Chief Legal Officer, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of legal, governance and compliance matters across the co-operative.

This is a diverse role spanning compliance, governance, contracts, insurance and intellectual property. You'll build strong relationships across the business, provide practical advice, and help Farmlands navigate legal and compliance responsibilities with confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support legal, compliance and governance activities across the co-operative

  • Prepare and coordinate contracts, agreements and other legal documentation

  • Manage insurance, intellectual property and regulatory obligations

  • Support governance and company secretarial activities

  • Identify and help manage compliance risks

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business

You may come from a legal, compliance, governance, risk or regulatory background.

More importantly, you're someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex situations, building strong relationships and finding practical solutions that help people get things done.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience in legal, compliance, governance, risk or a related field

  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with a range of stakeholders

  • The ability to analyse information and make sound recommendations

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong written communication skills

  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and business systems
