About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lending Operations Manager to lead a team supporting US Mortgage Closing processes within Home Lending Operations. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, driving performance and employee development, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements, and partnering with key stakeholders to achieve business objectives.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage the activities of a Loan Production, Loan Servicing, and Commercial or Real Estate Construction Loan team responsible for loan processing, documentation, pre-closing or closing tasks, loan monitoring, loan servicing, or underwriting activities

  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Lending Operations functional area

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within Lending Operations functional area

  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of new and revised systems, policies, and guidelines

  • Oversee implementation of practices to ensure compliance with Wells Fargo legal, investor, regulatory, or business policies

  • Make credit decisions and resolve issues regarding performance of a business unit or functional area to ensure business objectives are met

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functional areas with low to moderate complexity, and with accountability for special portfolio segments requiring focused management

  • Collaborate and consult with Lending Operations peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers accountable for providing quality customer service to internal or external customers

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Lending Operations

  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Transactions and Processing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of overall US Mortgage experience, with strong knowledge of mortgage operations and closing processes.
  • Strong understanding of US Mortgage regulations and requirements, including TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure) regulations.
  • Proven experience managing US Mortgage Closing processes.
  • Experience leading teams within Financial Services Operations, including Mortgage Closing, Underwriting, Quality Assurance, or Customer Contact/Telecommunication functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to analyze and interpret operational data and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective oversight of pipeline management activities and establish strong operating routines.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • An equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education may be considered.


Job Expectations:

  • Must be amenable to working onsite in McKinley Hill, BGC, Taguig City.

  • Must be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule, with shift start times typically ranging between 8:00 PM and 1:00 AM.

  • This role follows a fixed weekends off schedule and observes the US holiday calendar.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to proactively engage with internal bank stakeholders, third parties, and settlement agents via telephone to gather required information and documentation, clarify details, and resolve mortgage closing conditions.

  • Ability to conduct clear, customer-focused telephone conversations to explain underwriting decisions, documentation requirements, and next steps in the mortgage process.

  • Experience handling both inbound and outbound calls while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and ensuring timely follow-up.

  • Strong active listening skills, with the ability to accurately capture information and effectively address concerns.

  • Ability to maintain accurate call logs and document key discussion points and outcomes of telephone conversations for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Manage and develop one or more specialized customer service and operations teams within the Operations organization.

  • Develop strategies to improve staffing processes and ensure US Mortgage Closing functions meet regulatory, risk management, and compliance requirements.

  • Partner with stakeholders and internal business partners to support operational objectives and customer service goals.

  • Independently manage moderately complex issues, projects, and operational challenges.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and risk control enhancements, escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Provide training, coaching, performance management, and development opportunities for team members.

  • Make decisions and resolve issues related to resources, operational objectives, and day-to-day business activities.

  • Interpret, implement, and develop operational policies and procedures within the scope of responsibility.

  • Manage budget and financial performance for the assigned function.

  • Collaborate with and influence professionals and leaders across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Lead teams in achieving operational, service, quality, and compliance objectives.

  • Manage the allocation of people and financial resources to support business priorities.

  • Mentor and develop direct reports and participate in talent acquisition activities.

  • Supervise mortgage closing processes to ensure timely completion, quality execution, and compliance with established requirements.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of mortgage closing activities, including Closing Disclosure (CD), TRID regulations, payoff calculations, homeowners insurance, vesting requirements, state-specific signature requirements, and tax and homeowners insurance (HOI) payments.
