Loss Prevention Supervisor

(Location: Onsite Asheville, NC)

OVERVIEW:

The LP Supervisor is an integral member of the Leadership Team and will be responsible for leading the efforts that ensure the safety and security of the workplace, the associates, visitors, and vendors in our retail/wholesale distribution center in Asheville, NC.  


This position requires an ability to influence, teach, coach and train others. In addition, they will be responsible for ensuring operational and safety compliance through audits, training, and awareness. They will be expected to independently assess the environment, identify areas of opportunity, and recommend and/or execute appropriate actions in a timely manner to mitigate risk. Communication and collaboration are a must!  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of the safety and shrink policies and programs for the Asheville facility. 
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with DC Leadership and all cross-functional teams within the building.
  • Actively participate in field operations and safety team programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Hire, train, mentor and manage all Loss Prevention Representatives, including a Supervisor (Contractual and Proprietary).
  • Develop comprehensive training for the Loss Prevention department to create successors and bench strength for future growth. 
  • Provide coaching & feedback to achieve goals and maximize potential.
  • Enforce safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures to deter loss and mitigate risk through training and awareness programs, strict compliance, and investigations. 
  • Initiate and participate in all risk assessments and inspections (burglar, fire alarm, sprinkler system, etc.). 
  •  Develop programs and initiatives to improve the safety and security of the building.
  • Facilitate safety and shrink meetings, develop training initiatives, and present to existing employees and new hires.
  • Maintain CCTV, perimeter access systems and controls. 
  • Networks with local PD and the industry on Loss Prevention issues, trends, and best practices 
  • Conduct BAT (breath alcohol testing) and Oral Swap testing as part of our Substance Abuse Program 
  • Manage seal control, identify loss trends, and support transportation through inbound/outbound shipments in coordination with Logistics. 
  • Identify and train direct reports to investigate Auction Site for fraud and counterfeiting of J.Crew merchandise.
  • Conduct internal (theft, dishonesty, policy violations, behavioral, accident) and external investigations (cargo theft) and tampered cartons.
  • Take the lead on reported potential threats (WPV), complete threat questionnaire and notify necessary parties in timely manner, which includes daily updates to the team on next steps and coordinating police coverage as needed.
  • Serve as support for potentially volatile terminations and /or situations within.
  • Develop, update, and manage Loss Prevention policies and programs, to include the interior and exterior of the Lynchburg facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a 2-year degree required or relevant work experience. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and can create relationships within the LP department and   cross functional business partners. 
  • Proven ability to coach, develop and motivate teams and manage ambiguity and conflict; proven ability to provide feedback and develop others.  
  • Communicate effectively and confidently both verbally and written. 
  • Must be available to support all shifts. 
  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Have a neat, orderly appearance. 
  • This position will also require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, and stooping along with the ability to climb stairs.
