Maintenance Tech A | Day Shift

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician (Level A) is a highly skilled industrial maintenance professional responsible for maximizing the performance, uptime, and reliability of manufacturing equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, efficient operations while supporting product quality and cost-effectiveness. Working in a hands-on manufacturing environment, you will apply precision maintenance practices, advanced troubleshooting, and continuous improvement strategies to keep operations running at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment.

  • Maintain mechanical systems such as bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, chains, and pulleys.

  • Service conveyors, piping systems, and utility systems (steam, air, water).

  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues affecting safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Identify root causes of failures and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Restore equipment to safe operating condition quickly and efficiently.

Proactive Maintenance Execution

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, and component replacements.

  • Predictive Maintenance (PdM): Utilize condition-monitoring tools (infrared thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonics) to detect and prevent failures.

  • Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM): Execute maintenance based on equipment condition and data insights, supported by detailed job plans.

Continuous Improvement

  • Complete work orders and support reliability and process improvement initiatives.

  • Participate in projects that enhance equipment performance and support new technologies.

  • Contribute ideas and solutions aligned with operational and business goals.

Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to ensure seamless communication and execution.

  • Share expertise and best practices across the team.

  • Mentor and support the development of less-experienced technicians.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Experience

  • Strong background in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.

  • Proven mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.

Safety Expertise

  • Thorough understanding of safety standards including:

    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

    • Confined space entry

    • PPE requirements

    • Powered industrial trucks (PIT)

    • Fall protection

    • Hoisting and rigging

    • Hot work procedures

  • Demonstrates a consistent commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar tools.

  • Ability to document work and manage parts effectively.

Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

  • Experience updating or creating technical documentation.

Analytical Ability

  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

  • Solid math skills including measurements, conversions, and basic formulas used in maintenance tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Troubleshooting: Proven electrical troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Schematics: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

  • Fabrication Skills: Welding, machining, or equipment modification experience.

  • Predictive Maintenance: Hands-on experience using diagnostic technologies and interpreting data.

  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, or lead maintenance personnel.

  • 4+ years of Maintenance experience
