About the Role: The Maintenance Technician (Level C) is an entry-to-mid level industrial maintenance professional responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment. In this role, you will perform hands-on maintenance and basic troubleshooting while assisting senior technicians and maintenance leaders on more complex work. You will play an important role in minimizing downtime, maintaining product quality, and building foundational skills in reliability and maintenance practices within a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain mechanical systems such as bearings, belts, chains, pulleys, shafts, motors, and gearboxes.
- Support conveyance systems, pumps, valves, and utility systems (steam, air, water).
- Assist with hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance to ensure safe, continuous operation.
Troubleshooting & Basic Repairs
- Identify and resolve common mechanical issues impacting safety, quality, or production.
- Diagnose problems, perform repairs or part replacements, and restore equipment functionality.
- Document and communicate issues, root causes, and corrective actions to maintenance and operations teams.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform scheduled inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements.
- Predictive Maintenance (PdM): Use basic tools (infrared thermometers, ultrasound devices, oil sampling) to monitor equipment condition.
- Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM): Execute repairs based on inspection findings and established maintenance plans.
Project & Improvement Support
- Complete assigned work orders supporting plant reliability and improvement initiatives.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Follow all safety and quality standards during project work.
Team Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with senior technicians (Levels B & A) and maintenance leads.
- Support larger repairs, overhauls, and installations while learning advanced skills.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-focused environment through communication and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Experience
- Foundational experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
Safety Knowledge
- Understanding of key safety practices, including:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined space entry
- PPE requirements
- Hot work procedures
- Powered industrial trucks (PIT)
- Fall protection and rigging basics
- Demonstrated commitment to working safely and following procedures.
Technical Skills
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments.
- Ability to select and safely use tools for maintenance tasks.
- Comfortable using CMMS or basic computer systems to document work and request parts.
Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings.
- Capable of creating basic sketches or notes to support maintenance activities.
Problem-Solving & Math Skills
- Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and correcting common equipment issues.
- Fundamental math skills, including measurements, unit conversions, and simple formulas.

Preferred Qualifications
- Schematics: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Fabrication Skills: Basic welding, machining, or fabrication experience.
- Predictive Maintenance Exposure: Familiarity with diagnostic tools or condition-monitoring techniques.
- Technical Training: Industrial maintenance certifications or relevant technical education.
- 1-2 years of Maintenance experience
