About the Role:
Manager - Custody Operations is to lead the day-to-day operational activities of our institutional digital asset custody platform. This role will be responsible for ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant execution of digital asset transactions while managing operational risk and delivering exceptional service to institutional clients.
The ideal candidate should possess strong operational expertise, excellent analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of digital asset custody, blockchain transactions, and institutional operational processes.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage daily custody operations including deposits, withdrawals, wallet administration, settlements, staking operations, and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure timely execution of client instructions while adhering to internal controls and operational procedures.
- Monitor transaction queues and ensure all transactions meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Handle operational escalations and resolve complex transaction issues.
- Perform timely reconciliation and proof of reserves to ensure accurate accounting of client assets and liabilities.
- Regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and training materials to reflect changes in processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Conduct testing and validation of backup and recovery keys to ensure operational resilience and continuity.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to streamline Know Your Business (KYB) processes for smooth onboarding of new customers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work with the internal auditor (IA) for data adherence to policies and review mechanisms, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and key management approval of all activities related to key management, including key generation, storage, usage, sanitisation and any other changes.
- Prepare periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports for management review, providing insights into operational performance, compliance status, and key metrics
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Between 4 to 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the financial services industry. Must be at team lead or deputy manager level in the current role.
- Experience with reconciliation, trade processing, financial planning and analysis, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of digital assets along with blockchain technology.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and other departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management software.
