About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical FinOps Manager to lead critical financial operations across fund flow management, escrow reconciliations, settlements, and financial controls. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of lender and borrower fund movements while maintaining compliance with RBI regulations. The ideal candidate should have experience in fintech, banking, NBFCs, or payments, with a strong inclination towards process automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fund Flow & Risk Management
- Monitor and validate daily borrower and lender escrow balances.
- Ensure seamless execution of T+1 settlements in accordance with RBI guidelines.
- Track idle funds, settlement delays, and fund variances, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor operational risks associated with fund movement and implement preventive controls.
- Ensure compliance with RBI Digital Lending and P2P regulations across all financial operations.
- Maintain complete documentation, audit trails, and operational logs for regulatory and internal audits.
- Support compliance reviews, audit observations, and closure of action items.
2. Lender–Borrower Fund Matching
- Oversee lender-to-borrower fund allocation processes for both manual and automated lending.
- Validate allocation logic to ensure accurate fund deployment.
- Monitor mismatches, exceptions, and reassignment scenarios, ensuring timely resolution.
- Continuously improve allocation accuracy and operational efficiency.
3. Escrow Reconciliation & Financial Controls
- Perform and oversee daily reconciliations across:
- Escrow accounts vs. Internal Systems
- Payment Gateway settlements vs. Bank Credits
- Disbursement transactions vs. Payout confirmations
- Investigate reconciliation breaks and ensure timely closure.
- Ensure 100% accuracy in financial reporting and operational reconciliations.
- Strengthen reconciliation controls to minimize operational and financial risks.
4. Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency
- Analyze payment gateway charges, payout costs, banking fees, and other FinOps expenses.
- Identify opportunities to optimize transaction costs through routing improvements, automation, and process redesign.
- Monitor cost-per-transaction metrics and develop management dashboards for leadership.
- Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency without compromising controls.
5. Process Improvement & Automation
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to automate manual financial operations, including:
- Escrow reconciliations
- Settlement processes
- Payment gateway reconciliation
- Mandate tracking
- Contribute to the design of FinOps dashboards, monitoring frameworks, and operational reporting.
- Participate in UAT for product and technology releases impacting financial operations and fund flow processes.
- Recommend scalable solutions to improve operational resilience and efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Must Have
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 3–6 years of experience in FinTech, NBFC, Banking, Payments, or Financial Operations.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, reconciliations, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Hands-on experience managing high-volume financial transactions with exceptional accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong ownership mindset.
- Ability to perform effectively in time-sensitive and high-accountability environments.
- Excellent collaboration skills with Finance, Product, Technology, Operations, and Compliance teams.
Good to Have
- Experience driving automation initiatives or working closely with Product and Engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Drona, or similar analytics tools.
- Understanding of payment gateway ecosystems, settlement routing, and payout infrastructure.
- Familiarity with RBI regulations governing Digital Lending, P2P Lending, and escrow operations.
