What this job involves:
Are you the person who sees a business problem and instinctively starts looking for a data-driven solution? This role is for a proactive owner and strategic thinker who is motivated not just by analyzing data, but by transforming it into measurable business impact. You will be empowered to audit our existing analytics portfolio, drive enhancements through automation and AI, and partner with business leaders to turn ambiguous challenges into clear, actionable insights.
As a key member of JLL Business Services (JBS), you will help shape the organization's journey toward data-driven operations. This role goes beyond traditional reporting, combining business acumen, analytical depth, and solution ownership to influence how decisions are made across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, analytical depth, AI fluency, stakeholder influence, and hands-on technical capability to independently drive high-impact analytics initiatives from concept through adoption.
Job Title:
Manager, Operational Intelligence
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Solution Ownership: Operate as an autonomous analytics partner to business stakeholders, translating high-level objectives into tangible roadmaps. Take full ownership of the solution lifecycle from strategic requirements gathering and logical data modeling to driving project implementation, stakeholder collaboration, and user adoption.
Advanced Solution Development: Design and develop robust, scalable analytics solutions that provide actionable, prescriptive insights. This includes hands-on ownership of the technical build: from designing data models and writing advanced SQL to creating compelling, executive-level dashboards and data narratives in Power BI or Tableau.
Portfolio Optimization and Enhancement: Proactively audit and own the team's existing portfolio of analytics solutions. Identify and execute opportunities for enhancement through workflow automation (e.g., Power Automate), refined analytical methodologies, improved user experience, and the strategic application of AI tools to increase efficiency and impact.
Innovation and AI Advocacy: Champion the practical use of AI as a strategic lever for problem-solving. Act as a thought partner by proactively experimenting with and recommending how modern tools (JLLGPT, Claude, AI-enabled BI features) can be applied to accelerate analysis, generate deeper insights, and solve complex business challenges.
Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and project guidance to 1-2 analysts through a matrix reporting structure. Guide their work assignments and ensure delivery excellence. Administrative management responsibilities remain with their functional reporting line.
Required Experience and Skills
- 10-13 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or related data-focused roles, with a demonstrated track record of turning ambiguous business problems into practical, adopted solutions.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data insights to operational, financial, and strategic business outcomes.
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable challenging existing assumptions constructively to improve business performance and decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior leaders and translating analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Comfortably operating with a high degree of autonomy, managing multiple priorities, and navigating evolving business requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, with the ability to independently build intuitive, high-impact analytics products.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable data models for analytics. Adept at translating complex business requirements into logical data structures. Hands-on proficiency with advanced analytical SQL for data exploration and validation is essential. Experience working with enterprise data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks is highly preferred.
- A strong interest in and aptitude for leveraging AI and AI-enabled analytics tools to accelerate analysis and support strategic thinking, coupled with strong critical thinking and business judgment.
- Experience with modern workflow automation tools including Power Automate, API integration, SharePoint, or M365 integration is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts in a clear, business-relevant manner. Skilled at storytelling with data and presenting to executive audiences.
- Experience working in global organizations and across cross-functional or multicultural teams is preferred.
- Estimated compensation for this position offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
