About this role

Google's line of products and services to clients never stops growing. Strategic Partner Managers have the rare opportunity to build a long-lasting relationship with our top partners. You cultivate these existing partnerships to make sure they can take full advantage of Google's ever-growing suite of offerings. You possess strong relationship-building skills and are apt to see mutually beneficial opportunities with partners in order to best represent our users, products and programs.

Google Play’s ecosystem in EMEA is complex and constantly evolving. As the regional leader of Play Partnerships, you will drive the development of the apps and games ecosystem in EMEA. You’ll lead the regional Play Partnerships organization responsible for accelerating the success of partners on Play and the growth and adoption of Android platforms and products in EMEA.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to help thousands of Play apps and games partners improve their reach and revenues; and work with government relations, communications and legal teams to anticipate and address issues that may hinder this goal. You will work with the central operations teams to deliver scalable solutions, and ensure more partners can succeed on Play.

To ensure our products and services meet partner needs and our ecosystem remains safe and trusted, you will invest in creating long-lasting relationships with our partners. You’ll cultivate these partnerships to make sure they can take full advantage of Google's ever-growing suite of offerings to drive their own success.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a multi-year ecosystem strategy in the region to accelerate success of apps and games developers, defining priorities and building systems to track and report progress.
  • Build on Google Play’s global strategy and lead teams across multiple offices in the region to support the growing business.
  • Be a strategic partner to the Google EMEA leadership team to drive cross-Google strategy and lead change in the region, including people, processes, and systems.
  • Drive initiatives for Google Play in EMEA by actively influencing various stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ensure consistent policy guidelines and enforcement. Work with other teams to anticipate local changes and ensure Google Play is always prepared to respond.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of people management experience, leading regional/global distributed teams
  • Experience in mobile app ecosystems, digital platforms, or other relevant areas
  • Experience working in a global product, sales, and engineering environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA degree
  • Experience addressing policy, regulatory, and legislative issues
  • Experience in mobile app ecosystems, digital platform, multi-functional background, or within a consulting firm
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills, established network of senior industry relationships and experience in negotiating and closing strategic partnerships and renewals
  • Good business judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior business partners and confidence to advocate for partners, clients and the business
  • Track record of self-starting, increasing responsibility and successfully leading and developing a partnerships team
