About this role

Job Description Summary

This position involves leading a team within a production unit or line in the execution of production processes to transform parts and raw materials into GE circuit breaker products in a timely, cost-effective manner to achieve business overall metrics within the GE values. Ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. This role sets the standard for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Culture of the manufacturing workplace.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manages the assigned area ensuring that safety, quality, production, cost control and continuous improvement objectives are met.
  • Able to tackle problems and act with sense of urgency.
  • Leads with optimism, confidence, and clarity to help employees feel engaged, value their role, and feel good about the company direction and strategy.
  • Lead a high quality, effective start of shift production meeting, ready to discuss all production issues, maintenance needs, etc. from the previous shift.
  • Ability to work in and encouraging collaboration and motivating team to produce results.
  • Demonstrate credibility, technical capability, and effective communication.
  • Coach employees on continuous improvement, support in implementing productivity improvement projects and oversee training for your department, including safety, manufacturing, environmental, lean.
  • Provides clear direction to employees working in the assigned production areas
  • Completes assignments and projects on time. Is accountable for personal and organizational results.
  • Maintains focus and direction while removing barriers to minimize distractions and gain productivity
  • Work closely with other departments to meet on-time delivery goals
  • Conducts meetings and one-on-one conversations to effectively communicate company policies, objectives, and performance feedback to workforce in assigned area
  • Ensure (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Must develop a cross trained workforce that remains flexible and agile to meet customer and plant needs.
  • Delivers on-time completion of product produced in the assigned assembly areas.
  • Facilitates cost-effective use of overtime.
  • Investigates, documents, and implements corrections to departmental problems including preventive action.
  • Assigns duties to workforce, examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Ability to help develop and maintain training matrix for your department.t
  • Partners with quality team to analyzes and adjusts all errors produced from work area .
  • Performs administrative work necessary for proper documentation.
  • Always maintains a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a comparable discipline and a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in a manufacturing environment (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory role.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $81,700.00 and $136,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
