About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements 


People Inc is seeking a Marketing Manager to join our Lifestyle team, contributing to the category strategy and revenue for our Travel vertical. 

The Sales Marketing Manager develops strategic pre-sale proposals and client-facing marketing materials that support revenue growth across the Vertical Team. This role partners closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders to create compelling advertiser solutions, translate insights into impactful storytelling, and support go-to-market opportunities across People Inc.’s portfolio of brands. 

This hybrid role, based in NYC, requires a minimum of three days in the office each week and reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Marketing - Travel.


Hybrid 3x a week- (New York City) 
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.


About The Team: | Travel Sales Marketing

  • Lead Proposal Process: Manage proactive and RFP responses, creating smart, strategic ideas for advertising partners in the Travel vertical 
  • Vertical Strategy: Collaborate across the Dotdash Meredith portfolio to create sellable opportunities for advertisers that are grounded in our brand’s most influential franchises and tentpoles
  • Brand Communication: Lead internal conversations with Dotdash Meredith brands and verticals to communicate high-value opportunities to the Travel sales team on a regular basis
  • Storytelling: Bring ideas to life through well-written and visually-appealing proposals that represent our brands, capabilities, and ideas flawlessly
  • Cross-Department Communication: Partner closely with Editorial, Content Strategy, Research, Account Strategy, and Design to ensure proposals effectively communicate our unique value proposition
  • Sales Partnership: Develop strong relationships with the sales team to become experts on their business; provide support on client calls, as needed

About The Positions  Contributions:

75% Integrated proposal development (creative brainstorming, strategic writing, designing proposal, liaising with appropriate teams to gather all information)
20% Presentation Development (category presentations, program sell-sheets, etc.)
5% Fostering relationships with outside brand teams to bring opportunities to the travel vertical


The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience:
3-5 years relevant experience at a digital and/or print publisher, with a focus in pre-sales marketing; background in Travel category is a plus 


Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills with an ability to execute visually impactful presentations (fluent in Keynote and Powerpoint)
  • You’re an excellent communicator, who remains poised under pressure and can tailor messages for different audiences
  • You have an understanding of digital advertising landscape, products, and trends; understanding of print and/or programmatic marketplace is a plus
  • You are a true self-starter – provide proactive ideas, understand organizational goals, and move initiatives forward
  • You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment 
  • Strategic proposal writing and sales narrative development
  • Functional knowledge of media, advertising, and sales ecosystems
  • Application of data and trends to recommendations

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $80,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
