Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support failure analysis and root cause investigations for manufacturing, supplier, and field‑related issues across the LATAM region.
- Perform metallurgical and materials characterization using laboratory techniques under supervision.
- Assist in preparation of technical reports documenting analysis results and corrective actions.
- Provide materials engineering support to manufacturing and repair operations related to aeroderivative and heavy‑duty gas turbine technologies.
- Support supplier qualification and monitoring activities, including review of material certifications and process documentation.
- Participate in supplier assessments and audits alongside senior materials or quality engineers.
- Assist in planning and execution of material testing and characterization programs.
- Support quality improvement and corrective action activities using structured problem‑solving tools.
- Assist in creation, revision, and interpretation of material and process specifications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, and regional teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, co‑ops, or academic projects accepted).
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy of steels and/or superalloys.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
Desired Qualifications
- Academic or internship experience with metallography, materials characterization, or mechanical testing.
- Exposure to manufacturing, repair, or supplier quality environments.
- Knowledge of basic root cause analysis and quality tools.
- English proficiency desirable.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
