Our Client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to perform mechanical maintenance, equipment assembly, machine setting, and mechanical troubleshooting within the production plant. The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical systems and a focus on minimizing downtime, ensuring operational safety, and maintaining equipment reliability through effective preventive and breakdown maintenance practices. Responsibilities: Perform mechanical maintenance, machine assembly, and fitment tasks across the plant. Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines, equipment, and utility systems. Maintain and update a list of necessary machine spare parts and promptly inform the Maintenance Manager. Work towards minimizing downtime, with a target of achieving zero equipment stoppage. Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to tools, machines, and mechanical parts. Secure proper work permits before commencing high-risk tasks (e.g., working at heights, on roofs, or in intricate machine areas). Keep accurate documentation of daily and weekly preventive and breakdown maintenance activities. Consistently use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures while handling machines, tools, and mechanical systems. Ensure thorough housekeeping and cleanliness of the machine, equipment, and working area upon completion of maintenance tasks. Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management. Requirements Certificate Level 3 or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including the ability to read related diagrams. Basic proficiency in reading and writing in both Swahili and English. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and measurements. Practical knowledge of mechanical safety standards and workplace safety practices.
